Nunca había leído un libro de esta naturaleza. Me hizo querer abrazar a Sarah, pero más que nada me hizo recordar la belleza de la redención, del amor, del perdón y de las segundas oportunidades. Hubo varias páginas en las que lloré. No imagino lo duro que ha de haber sido para la autora hablar sobre todo esto. Aunque el libro se centra en la relación complicada de una madre y su hija, puede ser útil para cualquier tipo de relación complicada, dolorosa y conflictiva. Llamó mi atención cómo la mamá tenía el otro lado de la moneda totalmente y cómo percibía diferente la historia. Cada una su lado, es por eso que es tan importante la comunicación y sobre todo el dejar ir... el soltar las expectativas de lo que pensamos que debería ser. Agradezco por las mentoras de Sarah, que me inspiraron y me dieron esperanza de que una vida puede cambiar y luego esa vida puede llevar un mensaje importante a otras, seguro nunca lo imaginaron. Te recomiendo este libro si estás en una relación imposible, de la cual no puedes deshacerte pues es "familia", por ejemplo. I had never read a book of this nature. It made me want to hug Sarah, but more than anything, it reminded me of the beauty of redemption, love, forgiveness and second chances. There were several pages on which I cried. I can't imagine how hard it must have been for the author to talk about all this. Although the book focuses on the complicated relationship of a mother and daughter, it can be useful for any kind of complicated, painful, and conflicting relationship. It has come to my attention how the mother totally had the other side of the coin and how she perceived the story differently. Each one its side, that is why communication is so important and especially about letting go ... letting go of expectations of what we think it should be. I am grateful for Sarah's mentors who inspired me and gave me hope that a life can change and then that life can carry an important message to others, surely you never imagined it. I recommend this book if you are in an impossible relationship, which you cannot get rid of because it is "family", for example. I hope God uses these memories to bring light and hope to other hearts.

¿Jackie?... no... ¡Santoria! todo el tiempo pensé: quiero conocer a Santoria, quiero aprender y ser comoe ella. Para mi es una de las heroínas del libro. Este no es un libro de los que leería comúnmente, pero como lo había leído ya en inglés y lo creo útil para varias familias y amistades, no sabía si "le haría justicia" la traducción y quise verificarlo. Tengo varias amigas a las cuales me gustaría regalárselos, Me quedé muy contenta de ver que sí. El estilo de Jackie es interesante, melódico y profundo, además bíblico. Me gustaron incluso los títulos de los capítulos y el orden no precisamente secuencial de la historia. Hubo varias páginas en las que se me salieron lágrimas. Somos muy diferentes y aún así, pude sentirme identificada con mucho de lo que menciona, esto demuestra que aunque jamás hayamos vivido algo así, podemos escuchar y comprendernos. Me encanta conocer personas. Me gusta tener nuevos amigos, me gusta salir con personas que son muy diferentes a mí, una oposición única y radical a las cosas que sé, me gustan y disfruto. He aprendido muchas cosas de esa manera. Jackie es ese tipo de amiga que me gustaría tener, para preguntarle muchas cosas y también compartir. Como antes mencioné, me identifiqué con la manera en que Nancy DeMoss presentó este libro me hizo pensar, oh sí, ella lo entiende, también es muy diferente y yo siento lo mismo y ambos disfrutamos y admiramos a Jackie. Nuestra apariencia, infancia, pecados, amigos, familia, nuestro todo es diferente, pero Dios es el mismo, es bueno y este libro me ayudó a comprender la historia de otra niña. Get the new edition. 10 years ago we read this book (my husband and me) it was life-changing, you will find it very convicting, but true. I have found that many "modern" pastors hate this kind of message, I think it is because they know it is true and it is uncomfortable, but they would have to think and make changes in their own little comfortable worlds. I think we must change ourselves without waiting for something else changes, not churches or systems that need to change for you to take decisions that alter our lives. May God guide us and help us to live as He wants us to and help us even when it is not easy at all.
