Hoy lanzamos confetti celebrando el lanzamiento del libro de Jennifer Dukes: It's All Under Control. Si eres una persona que por naturaleza "ata" su valor a lo productiva que es, este libro es para ti.
Me complace mucho conocer autoras frescas, vivaces, originales, que son lo suficientemente valientes para hablar de lo incómodo, de lo que todo mundo intenta esconder bajo una hermosa fachada de "control" (debería hablar en plural al decir eso). No sé cómo mezcla temas serios con un sentido del humor tan natural, es extraño que "me relaje" así, leyendo algo. Desde Eva, la mujer ha tenido una aguerrida lucha por el control, y me es muy útil e interesante aprender cómo luce la batalla de cada una en este aspecto.
Es muy lindo percibir la escencia de una autora a través de sus letras y creo que este libro abrirá conversaciones muy interesantes entre mujeres. Si no lo haz adquirido hoy es un buen día para hacerlo. Yo recibí este libro como obsequio a cambio de mi sincera opinión, fue un placer refrescar mi mente y poner las cosas en la perspectiva correcta (cuando las cosas tienden a salirse de las expectativas que tenías). Es mi primer encuentro con esta autora y estoy segura que estaré atenta a sus próximas obras.
Te comparto algunas frases para que veas de lo que trata:
"mi obsesivo deseo por controlar todo lo que sucedería después me estaba consumiendo"...
"... me tomó años ver cómo había forjado una nueva identidad en torno a mi trabajo ministerial. Una forma de trabajo quizás parecía más santa que la otra, pero en ambos casos, me encontré basando mi valor equivocadamente, basandome en mi utilidad ".
"... no dejes que tu valor se vincule con el bien que haces por la gente. No dejes que tu motivación sea: "Tengo que hacer esto, o nadie más lo hará "... Nuestro fanático controlador interno sentirá la presión externa para decir que sí a todo, porque no queremos decepcionar a nadie ... Pero mira, [cuando tu identidad está en Jesús], tu esencia saldrá de detrás de toda esa productividad para decir, "Aquí estoy. Soy el discípulo a quien Jesús sigue amando, sin importar nada más". Incluso si defraudo a alguien".
"Cuanto más ocupado estés, más necesitarás descansar ... No es necesario que dejes todo, necesitas un descanso para poder reposar ... Es cierto: la falta de descanso adecuado puede obstaculizar tu creatividad y capacidad para hacer frente a su carga de trabajo ".
Quizá creamos que lo opuesto al control es la conusión, pero no, lo el antónimo del control es la fe. Si lo lees me cuentas qué te parece.

Today we throw confetti celebrating the release of Jennifer Dukes' book: It's All Under Control. If you are a person who by its nature "ties" its value to how productive it is, this book is for you.
I am very pleased to meet fresh, vivacious, original authors who are brave enough to talk about the uncomfortable, what everyone tries to hide under a beautiful facade of "control" (I should speak in plural while I say that). I do not know how she can mix serious topics with such a natural sense of humor, it's strange that I "relaxed" like this, while reading.
Since Eva, the women have had a fierce struggle for control, and it is very useful and interesting to learn how the battle of each one looks in this aspect. It is very nice to perceive the essence of an author through her lyrics and I believe that this book will open very interesting conversations among women.
If you have not acquired it today is a good day to do it. I received this book as a gift in exchange for my sincere opinion, it was a pleasure to refresh my mind and put things in the right perspective (when things tend to get out of the expectations you had). It is my first meeting with this author and I am sure that I will be attentive to her upcoming works.
