Este libro me conmovió mucho pues dos personas que amo mucho tienen esta condición. Imagino cómo hubiera sido diferente su vida e inseguridades si adultos se hubieran involucrado mejor en su condición y con este tipo de herramientas brindarles seguridad y abrirles un camino de empatía con otros niños. Este libro, además de tener hermosas ilustraciones tiene un mensaje bello sobre las diferencias físicas, el respeto y lo valioso de una persona que va más allá del exterior. Habla sobre los temores de un niño que luce diferente y de los temores de quienes lo rodean. Considero de suma importancia que como padres, madres, educadores tengamos materiales disponibles así para no callar sobre estos temas o suponer que todos los niños lo tomarán igual. La labor de educar a los niños en amor y respeto puede ser enseñada de una manera linda y cálida desde pequeños. Me gustó mucho que el autor de este libro sabe lo que se siente pues él mismo tiene esta condición. Quizá sea momento de comenzar tu colección de libros sobre temas escabrosos y poco tratados para lograr un mejor entendimiento y acoger a todos en un grupo de juego, convivencia o salón de clases, lo mismo en las iglesias, por supuesto en la plática deberá agregarse el factor de que fue creado con un propósito y por quién, etc.

I thought this book would be a good idea so she wouldn´t feel like she is the only person with that problem (in our house, the rest of us are very good about focusing and being silent working...). The little book has a very useful acrostic that helps children to have in mind what steps they may take to concentrate. The illustrations are cute. It may be fun for a boy or a girl, not only boys deal with that)

The author uses the acrostic and fun little anecdotes the boy has to teach these tools to children. At the end of the short book he writes some more ideas for parents and educators if they have children around who need to fix it with focus. This book has not religious references.

This book is a delight for my girl. Since we got it she is so excited about it, and it is not just because it has awesome illustrations, but because she found it so funny. I appreciate a lot when she likes a book and can not put it down. She has been laughing out loud while she turns the pages. The ideas the author express there she wants to try them all. I think that is so sweet. She wants the start night and the forget about manners night. I don´t want to give you spoilers, but really, this book is great.

I´m grateful about books that my girl takes and finishes in hours, that means she really enjoyed and she couldn´t put that down. The author made her laugh a lot, she felt related to many histories. She said the author is so cool and she would love to meet him, and his daughter. She is also planning to have some plans their family had (no manners night, made her laugh a lot! and she wants that as well... amhhh not so grateful about that one haha, the other favorite was star night). The way they write is whimsical and enjoyable, what a dream come true to write a book with your own daughter (sight). My girl is 8 and she says she wants to keep the book for her own children (how sweet is that?). I´m happy she had a great time reading it!

My girl doesn´t have a sister, sadly...neither do I. Yes, very, very sad, I know... That is why I like this book the most, because we always look different from one another, inside and out. There is not another girl like us, not even one biological sister around. Sisters are different as the author shares with so much grace. 

I think this book is made with so much accurateness about how girls may differ in many things but they can still be friends. We were laughing together and having so much fun while we were finding things we were like Liv and Grace, and others very different, and how our friends are different as well. 

The illustration is beautiful, my girl wanted to draw some copies inspired by the ones she saw (a little artist in my house, she is 8). I think this will be a great gift for some of her very different friends, so they can enjoy who they are, just the way God made them.

Es grandioso ver un libro nacer, y cuando son dos ¡mucho más! mi hija participó hace tiempo en las encuestas con niñas que aparecen en el contenido, y está muy emocionada de tenerlo. Algunas de sus respuestas, me hicieron pensar en muchas niñas más que necesitan este material. Por eso estoy tan contenta de que estos libros ya estén disponibles.
Hay algunas mentiras que son disfrazadas de verdad, justo como la portada de este libro, algo apetecible, brillante, con mucho dulce, chispas de colores y adornos que las hacen parecer deliciosas y antojables... las mordemos, las creemos. 

Al haber sido yo misma capturada, durante mi niñez-adolescencia-juventud por varias de las mentiras de las cuales habla Nancy Leigh DeMoss en su libro "Mentiras Que Las Mujeres Creen y La Verdad Que Las Hace Libres", pensé, durante muchos años, en la necesidad de una instrucción intencional a las niñas, respecto a varios temas (sobre todo algunos que son tabú o tan controversiales en la actualidad), para darles una perspectiva más amplia de las mentiras que son "socialmente aceptadas y difundidas" pero tan huecas, a la cuales están expuestas de contínuo en los medios y que traen tanto vacío y dolor a tantas vidas. 

Sobre todo, al convertirme en mamá de una niña (8 años 5 meses atrás) creció en mi el deseo de tener un libro específicamente para niñas, con temas importantes para su formación. Pensando primero en mi niña, comencé a escribir uno para llevar varios temas que quiero tratar con ella. Después pensé que ya que lo iba a hacer, incluso se podría usar para alcanzar a más niñas hijas de amigas o conocidas u otras más.

Al no existir un libro así, sencillo, bonito, práctico y útil para niñas, pensé en la frase que luego dicen: "si no existe un libro como el que necesitas, escríbelo". Comencé a soñar y escribir ideas sobre dicho libro. Incluso contacté a algunas ilustradoras para llevarlo a cabo. Mi esposo me animaba mucho y comentaba ideas. Se lo conté a algunas hermanas y amigas. Después, en el inter, sucedieron varias cosas divinamente orquestadas que me hicieron "pausar" el plan y obviamente el libro no salió, como yo deseaba, en el 2017. Obviamente no sería un libro con este título, ni con estos temas, pero la intención era muy similar: bendecir, edificar y mentorear a niñas.

Escribo y te cuento todo esto para animarte y hacerte notar algo: Dios siempre está atento a nuestras necesidades. Él provee incluso ANTES de que necesitemos algo. No siempre tenemos que llevar a cabo cada idea idea o buscar cómo suplir cada necesidad que tenemos, Él lo hace antes! Muchas veces esa fuerte idea que tienes, o esa necesidad que ves, está ahí para que ores por ella o animes a las personas adecuadas para realizarla, hay que usar las ideas y el entusiasmo para orar que las personas correctas que lo lleven a cabo. Puedes orar y actuar para que suceda.

Compartirte sobre este libro es de mucha alegría para mi, pues ¡por fin! hay un libro para niñas que Nancy DeMoss con toda su experiencia y sabiduría y Dannah Gresh, que trabaja con niñas y jovencitas escribieron, ¡sí, nos escucharon! Ellas durante más años también han visto esta necesidad en las niñas e hicieron equipo para prepararlo y ser de bendición a esta generación. Recibí estos ejemplares el año pasado para su revisión y me emociona contarte que ¡ya están disponibles! puedes adquirirlos ya en preventa! Su lanzamiento oficial es el 5 de Febrero 2019, (tanto el libro para niñas, como la Guía para mamás). Puedes pedirlo desde YA!.

Me entusiasma la provisión de este material pues llega justo a tiempo a mi vida, cuando puedo estudiarlo y luego compartirlo con mi hija! (el libro está recomendado para niñas entre 9 y 12 años). Afortunadamente no tuve que esperar a ser ancianita para, vivir mucho, tener experiencia y saburía en estos temas y sobre todo tener tiempo poderlo escribir (jaja) ¡sí alcanzó mi hija a tener uno así, y por las mejores, no tuvimos que esperar hasta mis nietas! jeje. Si no hablas inglés seguro bien pronto tendremos también su traducción al español, no desesperes.

El libro está diseñado para ser interactivo, las niñas no sólo leen sobre las mentiras, sino que pueden reaccionar a lo que se les plantea, meditar mientras realizan las actividades y utilizar el espacio que tienen para escribir en el libro sus notas, como tipo diario. Es por ello que te recomiendo mucho más comprar la versión impresa del libro y no tanto la versión digital kindle.

Imagínate un libro bonito, y además lleno de verdades eternas. Me gustó tanto ver las caricaturas de Nancy y Dannah, (¡están graciosamente idénticas!, ve una vista previa de ellos, ¡espera los preciosos acabados en un precioso producto final en febrero! Julia Ryan diseñó el diseñó interior y las ilustraciones) y también hay una niña Zoe, con la cual las pequeñas pueden identificarse al ver las situaciones y problemáticas que deben enfrentar de una manera sencilla y digerible.
No sentí el libro tan profundo como otros de la saga, pero es precisamente porque es para niñas y esto, en lugar de verse como un inconveniente, me demuestra que será accesible para muchas niñas que quizá no están acostumbradas a leer y puede tomarse el libro como una guía o un rompe hielo para que las mamás, abuelitas o tías que se encarguen de la formación de niñas puedan usar como guía para hablar de estos temas.

Si estás familiarizada con los otros libros de la serie (Mentiras Que Las Jóvenes Creen y Mentiras que Las Mujeres Creen) el proceso de profundizar con ellas, se acuerdo a sus necesidades y edad, te resultará más sencillo.

El libro fomenta una identidad saludable en las pequeñas, así como relaciones con sus familiares y amigos (también las prepara para no convertirse en niñas obsesionadas con ellas mismas o los niños). Es un libro está diseñado para que las niñas puedan leerlo y llenarlo, y la Guía para mamás, lo hace más sencillo, aunque una mujer no tenga mucha experiencia al tratar estos temas (sobre todo los actuales, como el manejo de la tecnología, o presiones modernas), será sencillo que se involucre y pueda guiarla a través de esas verdades. Creo que también lo puede hacer una tía, abuela o mujer involucrada en la vida de una niña, si es que ella no tiene mamá. Al caminar juntas por el contenido de este libro, considero que será más memorable e intencional a que si lo leen solas, en mi opinión. Es una excelente idea que se generen guías como esta para las mamás que no tienen tanta creatividad o ideas sobre cómo se enseña a pequeñas sobre temas importantes.

También quiero agregar algo, porque ya lo he visto y aunque me duele, no me sorprende: Es de esperar aún más crítica a este tipo de libros, como todo lo que no está de moda o es "socialmente popular", ya que define, por ejemplo, de manera científica, por su genética a los niños y niñas así, con su género. También a otros se les hace exagerado el tema de límites saludables, ya que piensan que aún los pequeños deben expermientar irresponsablemente con todo tipo de experiencias. Para eso están los adultos, para guiar y cuidar de enfermedades y peligros que ellos aún no conocen, de eso se trata la paternidad, enseñar y guiar, ellos tomarán sus decisiones al crecer. Los conceptos y consejos son contraculturales, sí, pero les animo a examinarlo todo siempre, investigar profundo y retener lo bueno, aplicarlo y disfrutarlo.

He notado con tristeza, que actualmente hay personas se dedican a denigrar y atacar a todo aquel que opine diferente y quiera evidencia científica, comprobable, sus "argumentos" si es que se les puede llamar así, son falaces y solo respaldados por un "yo puedo hacer lo que me venga en gana hacer" y es sierto, solo deben considerar las consecuencias de vivir una vida sin pensar en consecuencias de las decisiones, tanto para ellos como para sus hijos.

Espero que podamos seguir siendo respetuosos y amorosos con todas las personas, y que comprendamos que todo mensaje contracultural será ridiculizado cada vez más por las mismas personas que exigen respeto y tolerancia. Mostremos el amor de Cristo en nuestras opiniones y respuestas. Eso también podemos enseñar a nuestras niñas, no ensuciar con lodo lo que no nos gusta, sino a ser mujeres lógicas, razonables, que se dirigen a los demás con respeto y tratan a todos con dignidad, incluso a los que tienen ideas distintas a nosotros. No debemos avergonzarnos ni callar sobre principios bíblicos ni de información comprobable, principios y valores con los que queremos criar a nuestros hijos. El mundo es un lugar temporal donde todos podemos y debemos convivir con respeto y amor.

Time ago, my daughter participated in the surveys with girls that appear in the content, and she is very excited to have it. I hope that we can continue to be respectful and loving with all people, and that we understand that every countercultural message will be ridiculed more and more by the same people who demand respect and tolerance. Crossway es por mucho una de mis editoriales favoritas. Cuando vi este libro me entusiasmé mucho. Primero: porque es para niños (y yo tengo dos en casa!), y después porque fue escrito por una mamá. Una mamá que también es educadora con experiencia internacional y tiene 6 hijos con los cuales practicar (mi repeto para ella). Las mamás sabemos lo que nuestros hijos necesitan (somos las que más los conocen). Me gustó mucho que cuenta cómo no encontraba un libro así en el mercado y se embarcó en la tarea de crearlo (wow! eso es ser proactiva ante una necesitad familiar, quiero seguir sus pasos y tener fe en Dios para crear herramientas que los guíen más en su conocimiento de Él).

Julie, al tener un hija adoptiva con necesidades especiales, necesitaba algo único y personalizado para ella, pero sencillo, concreto, y a la vez lleno de verdad, profundo. La hija enfrentaba desventajas en su desarrollo al haber pasado años en un horfanato antes de ser adoptada por ellos. Los libros que encontró contenían mucho trasfondo de tradiciones religiosas que ella desconocía, otros estaban bien escritos pero con un vocabulario muy complicado para personas que no hablaban ese idioma como materno. Crossway is by far one of my favorite publishers. When I saw this book I was very excited. First: because it's for children (and I have two at home!), And then because it was written by a mom. A mom who is also an educator with international experience and has 6 children with whom to practice (my repertoire for her). Moms know what our children need (we are the ones who know them most). I really liked that he tells how he could not find a book like that in the market and embarked on the task of creating it (wow! That's being proactive in the face of a family need, I want to follow her steps and have faith in God to create tools to guide them more, in his knowledge of Him).

Julie, having an adopted daughter with special needs, needed something unique and personalized for her, but simple, concrete, and at the same time full of truth, deep. The daughter faced disadvantages in her development after having spent years in an orphanage before being adopted by them. The books that she found contained a lot of background of religious traditions that she did not know, others were well written but with a very complicated vocabulary for people who did not speak that language as maternal. I didn't know what to expect when I got this book. But we have lovely memories with Kites in our family. My 8yr old girl liked it. What I take from this book is a lovely talk with my children about hard work and saving money to be able to get what they want, not need. They need to enjoy what they have. Nowadays children think they deserve everything and that is not right, thankfully is something that we talk about a lot in our house, books like this may help you talk about it with your children, but most of all I recommend you to take them to see real-world problem issues. La galletita por Margaret Hillert - Norwood House Press

No lo pude evitar, este libro me dio demasiada nostalgia, ya que mi abuelita paterna se parecía mucho a la de la ilustración, sobre todo en su virtuosidad al hornear.


Este libro es pequeño y sus ilustraciones coloridas y llamativas. Lo recomiendo para niños que están comenzando a leer, preescolares y quizá 1er año. Al final contiene una lista de palabras que el niño podrá leer al terminarlo.


También puede servir para niños que hablan inglés y están aprendiendo español. Padres que educan en el hogar y escuelas pueden beneficiarse de él. Pensar que la autora ha escrito más de 100 libros para ayudar a leer a otros es algo que impresiona y reta... demasiado.



No esperes un libro con una trama tan cautivante o llena de intriga, no tiene una introducción, una problemática marcada o comprensible, ni climax de la historia desgarrador, es más bien un pequeño libro para practicar la lectura con niños pequeños o entretenerlos describiendo las imágenes para aumentar su vocabulario. Recibí este libro para su revisión y comentar sobre él con honestidad, lo que puedo decir honestamente es que solo lo pedí por la añoranza que me hizo sentir sobre mi abuela, aprovecharé para contarle a mis hijos de ella. Cabe señalar que a mi hija, que le gusta dibujar, le gusta observar cómo los ilustradores logran las vívidas imágenes.

Es el primero libro que leo de Kathie Lee Gifford y todo lo que puedo pensar es que quizá ella tiene una niña parecida a la mía en algún lugar del mundo. Qué buena ilustradora es Julia Seals! (ya la agregué como una favorita, me encantó su trabajo! pues captura tan bella y tiernamente el inspirador contenido).

Este libro capturó mi atención desde el principio, no sólo por la linda niña que sale en la  ilustración, sino por el título. Permíteme te explico por qué.

Actualmente escucho a muchos niños decir que serán alguna determinada carrera porque eso "les hará ganar muchísimo dinero", es triste que sólo tengan ese enfoque, pues están centrados en ellos mismos y en nadie más. Por otro lado, la autora habla del regalo que nosotros podemos DAR. Al usar la palabra dar, estamos ayudándoles a estar menos ensimismados y enseñarles a enfocarse en los demás, en cómo colaborar, contribuir, servir. Creo que es un tema muy importante de enseñarles a los niños y platicarlo abiertamente, porque la cultura les gritará lo contrario. 

Por otro lado, qué bella sorpresa tuve al recibir este libro justo en estos días, cuando estabamos hablando de estos temas. El libro será publicado hasta el 23 de octubre del 2018, pero lo puedes preordenar desde ya aquí. ¡Es hermoso! 

Creo que este libro también es muy útil para hablar con niños pequeños sobre el diseño único y específico que Dios hizo al crearlos, así como para iniciar o reforzar conversaciones importantes sobre identidad, propósito, dones, talentos, poner todo al servicio de Dios y de los demás, de la manera que sólo ellos podrán hacer. Mi hija cumple 8 años el 20 de Agosto y llegó tan a tiempo revistarlo juntas. Ella le dio 5 estrellas!.

Si tienes oportunidad de adquirirlo, hazlo, es muy lindo. Es uno que seguramente visitaremos de nuevo en algunas otras ocasiones, cuando las preguntas sobre estos temas vengan. Lo leí yo, lo leyó ella y cuando llegó su papá del trabajo, también se lo leyó.

Si educas en casa o tus hijos están aprendiendo el idioma inglés, esta puede ser una buena y sencilla adición para que practique su lectura y te de pie para tratar estos temas con ellos.

This is the first book I read about Kathie Lee Gifford and all I can think is that maybe she has a girl like mine somewhere in the world. What a good illustrator is Julia Seals (I already added her as a favorite, I really liked her job! since she captures the inspiring content so beautifully and tenderly).

This book captured my attention from the beginning, not only because of the pretty girl that comes out in the illustration but because of the title. Let me explain why.

Currently, I hear many children say that they will be a certain career because that "will make them earn a lot of money". it is sad that they only have that focus on themselves and not anyone else. On the other hand, the author talks about the gift that we can GIVE. By using the word give, we are helping them to be less self-absorbed and to teach them to focus on others, how to collaborate, contribute, serve. I think it is a very important topic to teach children and talk openly because culture will shout otherwise.

On the other hand, what a beautiful surprise I had to receive this book just these days when we were talking about these issues. The book will be published until October 23, 2018, How exciting is that?!

I believe that this book is also very useful to talk with young children about the unique and specific design that God made creating them, as well as to initiate or reinforce important conversations about identity, purpose, gifts, talents, putting everything at the service of others and God. The way they only can do. My daughter is turning 8 years old on August 20 and she we were so excited to review it together. She gave it 5 stars!
